Aristoteles, important Greek philosopher( Macedonia 384 B. C. -322 B.C.). He studied Platonic philosophy and built his own theories on it. He was the teacher of Alexander the Great. All his books have become classics.
Epicurus (324 B. C. - 271 B. C.) developed science and scientific methodology. He taught that we should believe only what is tested through direct observation and logical deduction. His school was the first of the ancient Greek philosophical schools to admit women as a rule rather than an exception.
Euclid (300 BC), known as the "Father of Geometry", was a Greek mathematician. His book "Elements" is one of the most influential works in the history of mathematics. In that book he deduced the principles of what is now called Euclidean Geometry from a set of Axioms. It was used as the main textbook for teaching geometry from the time of its publication until the late 19th or early 20th century.
Eratosthenes (276-195 BC) A Greek mathematician, astronomer, geographer and music theorist. He evaluated the circumference of the Earth and the distance from the Earth to the Sun. He created the first map of the world, incorporating parallels and meridians. He was the first scientist to introduce the terms of geography and mathematical geography. Unlike Aristotle, he believed that there were good people and bad people in every nation (he was against racial purity).
Hippocrates (the father of medicine). One of his principles was that one could not study an illness in isolation, but had to study the patient as a whole. He discovered that the cause for several diseases was a wrong way of life.
